We're moving to paperless records

From the beginning of 2015, the University will be moving from a paper-based record system to an Electronic Records Management System (ERMS).

University Records is responsible for implementing consistent records management throughout ANU and providing advice and training to all staff. All information generated and received by ANU staff in the course of conducting business on behalf of ANU is a record and should be captured by an authorised recordkeeping system.

Currently the University is using a Central Records System (CRS) to capture and track the University's records. This system records details regarding files, their content, retention periods and borrowers. It is also used to request and transfer files around the organisation.

The University in the process of moving to an Electronic Records Management System. This important project will deliver a range of benefits including improved access to records, enhanced sharing of information, the removal of duplications and risks associated with current pracitices and compliance with the Archives Act.
